About The Stone Trust

The mission of The Stone Trust is:
to preserve and advance
the art and craft of dry stone walling.

The Stone Trust is a nonprofit organization registered with
the State of Vermont. The Stone Trust is currently seeking 501(c)(3) status from the United States Internal Revenue
Service. As a growing nonprofit organization, The Stone Trust provides education, training, and contract consulting services.
We also advocate for the preservation of the existing dry stone
structures as well as for the construction of new structures
using certified standards.

The Stone Trust organizes its standards and values following
the compelling model of the Dry Stone Walling Association of
Great Britain. The Dry Stone Walling Association of Great
Britain (DSWA) was founded in 1968 in Kirkcudbrightshire.
The Association currently includes over 20 dry stone walling
branches throughout Great Britain. Here in the US, The Stone
Trust is proud to steward both the history and future of dry
stone walling, as advocated in Great Britain.
